GOV.UK OneLogin service

Known issues for employersThis article sits within the Known issues for employers section

We are aware of the news item regarding GOV.UK OneLogin identity service that we use to control access to apprenticeship service accounts. The Apprenticeship Service does not share any of your personal data with the GOV.UK OneLogin service, and only utilises this service for authentication purposes. Due to the way we have implemented identify verification, any issue with the GOV.UK OneLogin service would not allow access to your data we hold. There is a risk to the credentials (username and password) but this is addressed by our use of multi-factor authentication, meaning anyone seeking to access your data in the apprenticeship service would also require access to the secondary verification route you set-up when registering, usually an external e-mail or SMS service.

We are working with the Government Digital Service to understand the issue that has been reported further and will take further action or communication if our assessment of the risk changes.
