Employer Agreement

EmployerThis article sits within the Employer section

All employers accessing apprenticeship funds through the apprenticeship service must accept an Employer Agreement with the Agency.

A variation of the current Employer Agreement (live January 2020) has been produced to include terms for the new Incentive Payments for Hiring a New Apprentice. The policy for the incentive payments applies from 1st August 2020 and you can apply for the new incentive through your apprenticeship service account from 1 September 2020.

If you signed up to the old agreement (prior to 9 January 2020), you have been sent notice that this agreement will terminate and inviting you to sign the new agreement from the 20 August. If you don’t sign the new agreement, you will still be able to see existing apprentices, but to make any changes to their records, add any new apprentices or apply for the incentive payment, you will be required to sign the new Employer Agreement.

If you signed your Employer Agreement after 9 January 2020, you will already be on the current agreement and will only be asked to accept the updated version to enable you to access Incentive Payments for Hiring a New Apprentice. This will form part of the application process.

Organisations can check when they accepted the agreement by taking the following steps on the apprenticeship service:

  1. Go to the ‘Your organisations and agreements’ section of your apprenticeship service account.
  2. Find the table at the bottom of the page, with the list of agreements your organisation has accepted.
  3. Click ‘View’ next to the relevant agreement.
  4. Check the date next to ‘Accepted on’.
