Connect your organisations

EmployerThis article sits within the Employer section

There is a similar article for training providers.

You need to add each organisation that will contract with your training providers in your apprenticeship service account, then sign an agreement to allow them to spend funds. These organisations are also called ‘connected organisations’.

Organisations are connected if one of the following applies:

  • they’re owned by the same person
  • one organisation owns the other

Contact HM Revenue and Customs to check if your organisations are connected.

Do not add a training provider as a connected organisation.

How to add a ‘connected organisation’

You can add organisations in the ‘your organisations and agreements’ section of your apprenticeship service account. You’ll need the organisation’s name and you must have authority to sign the agreement on their behalf.

The agreement allows you to transfer funds to other employers and pay training providers for apprenticeships. After you accept the agreement, you’ll get an agreement ID.

How to remove a ‘connected organisation’

You need to remove an organisation if they’re no longer a ‘connected organisation’. This will end the organisation’s agreement with the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).

Remove any training providers if you’ve added them as a connected organisation.

Please note that if you have live or approved records on the account, you will not be able to remove the connected organisation. This is because the record needs to be retained for audit purposes. You will still be able to remove the PAYE scheme for that organisation and should not add any further apprentices records for that organisation.
