Training provider permissions
Training providerThis article sits within the Training provider sectionThere is a similar article for employers.
An employer can give you permission to:
- Add apprentice records, which means you can add details about new apprentices and reserve funding for them if needed (view information about reserving funds). The employer will have final review of apprentice records.
- Recruit apprentices, which means you can advertise apprenticeships and review applications on the employer’s behalf. The employer can choose whether they want to approve adverts before they go live.
Get permission
If the employer already has an apprenticeship service account, they can add you to it from the ‘Manage training providers’ page of their account using your name or UK provider reference number (UKPRN). They can add you and set your permissions in a single step.
Or, you can add an employer and request permissions yourself using the 'Add an employer' page of your training provider account. You can find the employer using the email address they use to log in to their account. Then you can add them and request permissions. They'll receive an email asking them to accept or decline your request.
If you already work with an employer, you can search for them on the 'View employers and manage permissions' page of your account. You can view the permissions you currently have with them on this page. You can request new permissions by selecting the organisation name, then selecting 'Request permissions' on the next page.
If the employer is new to the apprenticeship service, you can set up an account for them with you as a training provider and request permissions. View our help article on how a training provider can set up an employer account.
Reserving funds
To reserve funds for an employer with a pay bill under £3 million (a non-levy organisation), you’ll need the ‘Add apprentice records’ permission.
Each employer must take responsibility for all reservations that are linked to their account, not the training provider.
