Top lines:
- From 1 January 2024 we will increase funding for apprentices starting their English and Maths provisions. This will apply to entry level, L1 and L2 qualifications in English and maths (which is typically a FSQ), to help apprentices gain these important skills. This is an increase of a minimum of 54% on the current rate of £471 for the different eligible qualifications.
- The funding rate will be brought in line with the equivalent core funding rate in the AEB. This removes a disparity where the AEB rate was raised but the Apprenticeship rate remained at a lower level, meaning we are currently paying providers two different rates for the same qualification.
- Details of what English and Maths we fund as part of the apprenticeship are set out in the Apprenticeship funding rules 2023 to 2024.
